EYFS Transition

Friday 3rd July 2020

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Thank you for your responses so far concerning zoom meetings next Wednesday. If you would like a zoom chat with Mrs Tetlow and Mrs Garner, please let us know by Tuesday morning at the latest, so we can send out invites.

Following the changes to the recent government guidelines, we are now able to set out our transition program for September. Children in school will not need to social distance and we are able to have full classes attending.

Unfortunately however, it still stands that we are unable to have parents on site, therefore we won’t be able to invite parents into lunchtime. School pick up and drop off will need to happen at the main gate, we will then escort the children into school. We are aware that this may be a daunting thing for some children, so we will be very mindful of this and do our best to ensure they have a lovely wave off in the mornings.  The children need to bring a minimal amount of things in each day, all they will need is a water bottle, snack, lunch, hat/ coat and possibly a change of clothes.

As soon as we have the menu information we will send it out, also with information about how to order.

The plan therefore is:

Week 1: Friday 11th September – 1:30-3.00

Week 2: Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September – 9.30-12.00

Thursday 17th and Friday 18th September – .9.30-12.30 (Staying for lunch)

Week 3: From Monday 21st September Children to come into school full time – 9-3.30

All children are invited to attend each date. Every date may feel too much for them to begin with, so just let us know if you plan on not sending them on any particular day.

Best Wishes

Amanda Somerwill
