Autumn Term 2017

The first half term saw all of the children in both year groups working well together, sparking off each other and producing some wonderful work.

Please see below the Topic web for the work we will be covering during this half term. The plans for history, geography, science and the arts will be flexible, responding to the particular interests of the children, at the same time as ensuring that all key objectives being covered. Thank you for all your support in helping your children produce some fantastic work at home, which we have really enjoyed sharing and displaying in class.

The Year 3 children have loved learning French for the first time, and the Year 4 children have made progress in their use and understanding of the language. We are currently trying to use some simple phrases for class routines.

The children have completed a second reading assessment on an ICT programme, Accelerated Reader (AR), which assesses their level. From your child’s result we have given them the band from which they can choose their reading book in the library. We would like you to continue listening to your child read in line with our homework policy, please initial in their reading record book every time you or another adult listens to them read. Once they have read the book they complete a comprehension and can take a new book. We monitor their results and change their levels at an appropriate time. If you have any queries please arrange a time to meet with me.
